A spring storm moving into Finland is bringing heavy snowfall and sleet to parts of the country, creating hazardous driving conditions, according to the Finnish Meteorological Institute and traffic agency Fintraffic.

The storm will bring precipitation primarily as sleet or snow east and north of a line stretching from Vaasa to Kotka. Snowfall in these areas may become heavy by Saturday. South of this line, rain is expected, with amounts remaining relatively low.

Fintraffic warns that the combination of heavy snow, sleet, and gusty winds will make driving conditions difficult or even extremely difficult in affected regions.
