The Icelandic government has been accused of making several factual errors in its presentation of the country’s new economic framework agreement, according to a report by national broadcaster RÚV.

The agreement, known as Rammagerðin (The Framework), outlines Iceland’s fiscal and economic policy priorities. Critics claim key details—including budget projections, revenue estimates, and policy impacts—were misstated in official communications.

Opposition lawmakers and independent economists have called for corrections, arguing the inaccuracies could distort public understanding of the plan’s implications. The government has not yet responded to the allegations.

The framework agreement, introduced earlier this year, aims to guide Iceland’s economic policy through 2027, addressing inflation, public spending, and long-term debt management.
