Fire breaks out in shopping center in Kortesjärvi, Finland

A fire has broken out in a shopping center located in the center of Kortesjärvi. Authorities suspect that the blaze originated from a deep fryer situated in the center’s grill. The incident was reported by a grill employee who spotted the fire while on the terrace and immediately notified emergency services.

Fortunately, there were no injuries, as the building was empty at the time the fire broke out. However, the flames spread rapidly, extending into the roof space. The shopping center accommodates several retail businesses as well as residential apartments.

Fire officials estimate that the damage from the fire will be significant. In addition to the fire damage, the building is expected to experience considerable smoke and water damage. Emergency responders believe that extinguishing the fire could take several more hours.
