The Presentation Experience is a familiar concept in many families where children regularly engage in a game that simulates giving presentations in a classroom setting. The mechanics are straightforward: players can evaluate a presentation and its content, and successful presentations unlock additional features. The game also allows players to disrupt others’ presentations if they have accumulated enough points from previous gameplay.

Notably, presentations are not confined to traditional classrooms; they can occur anywhere, including restrooms or even an Antarctic glacier. The game was developed in Jurva, South Ostrobothnia, by 20-year-old Niko Lähdesmäki. His success is evident as he ranks first on the earnings list in South Ostrobothnia, reporting a taxable income of €1,393,547.57 last year, with total taxes amounting to €760,494 and municipal taxes of €116,500 paid to the city of Kurikka. A year prior, he was also noted as the highest earner in the region with an income exceeding €1.2 million.

Lähdesmäki launched The Presentation Experience four years ago on the Roblox platform, which allows users to create their own games and monetize features they program. As of November 2023, he was still living with his parents in Jurva, having invested his game earnings in cars. The young developer works at night, sleeping during the day due to time zone differences, as the majority of his user base is located in the United States. “Niko updates his game at night. It needs to be continuously developed to maintain its profitability. Most of the users are in the U.S.,” his father, Jari Lähdesmäki, explained to Ilta-Sanomat.
