Next week marks the school autumn break in many regions of Finland. The week will start off with typical October weather, including clouds, fog, and some drizzle, particularly in the eastern and northern parts of the country. On Monday morning, fog will blanket much of Finland, but it is expected to lift by the afternoon. However, some eastern and northern areas may experience lingering fog.

Monday will also see light rain mainly in the east and north. As the week progresses, meteorologist Elias Paakkanen from Yle reports a significant change in the weather on Tuesday. The western and northern parts of Finland are expected to enjoy a sunny day, while the eastern areas will continue to have cloudy conditions and scattered showers, clearing up by the evening.

Wednesday promises mostly dry and variable cloudiness across the nation. Early week temperatures will range from just below ten degrees Celsius in the south to two or three degrees in northern Lapland.

A notable warming trend is predicted for Thursday, particularly in the south. “Very warm air for this time of year will begin flowing in,” says Paakkanen. Southern and central regions can expect temperatures between 10 and 15 degrees Celsius, with plenty of sunshine. However, the north is likely to remain overcast and cooler, with temperatures not exceeding 10 degrees.

The weather pattern will continue similarly on Friday and Saturday, maintaining the milder conditions established earlier in the week.
