Finland breaks heat wave record for third consecutive day with 68 days reported

Finland has broken its record for heat wave days for the third consecutive day, with the number of such days this year reaching 68, according to the Finnish Meteorological Institute (FMI). The temperature surpassed the heat threshold today, particularly in Salo’s Kärkäs area, where it reached 25.6 degrees Celsius.

As a result of today’s temperatures, the record for heat wave days in September from 1968 is also tied, with a total of five heat days reported so far this month, the FMI states.
