On Monday evening, Juliane Snekkestad’s attorney, Petter J. Grødem, confirmed that she wishes to provide further testimony regarding what she alleges is violence committed by Marius Borg Høiby during their relationship. Grødem noted that Snekkestad aims to share her story and prevent others from experiencing similar situations.

Snekkestad participated in her first police interview just before the weekend, with a follow-up scheduled for Tuesday. Her lawyer stated she intends to continue cooperating with the police by providing necessary information in subsequent interviews. He emphasized the significant media pressure Snekkestad has been under.

Høiby, son of Crown Princess Mette-Marit, has been charged with bodily harm and vandalism. While part of the royal family, he does not hold an official position within the monarchy and is entitled to privacy. The Crown Princess assumes a unique role in Norwegian society, and the public has a legitimate interest in knowing about the charges against her son, particularly as they have affected her official duties.

As of now, Høiby has not been interrogated in connection with his case. His lawyer, Øyvind Bratlien, has not yet made any comments regarding the situation. Høiby was arrested on August 4 at Jansløkka School, following allegations of assault against a woman and vandalism at her residence in Frogner.

Høiby admitted to using violence against the woman he was with on the night of August 4 and acknowledged being under the influence of alcohol and cocaine at the time. His lawyer labeled this admission as recognition of culpability. Høiby has disclosed his struggles with mental health issues and substance abuse and has stated he will resume treatment for these challenges. Police have indicated they are prioritizing the investigation and may expand the charges as warranted.
