Police seek remand for suspect in Breiðholt homicide

Police have asked a court to remand a man suspected of involvement in a homicide in Breiðholt, mbl.is reports. The man appeared before a judge at Reykjavik District Court on Sunday evening, but it was not yet clear whether the request had been granted.

Police arrested three men in connection with the case. The other two remain in police custody, said Agnes Eide, a chief superintendent in the police investigation department.

Two men were attacked overnight near the Hraunberg shopping centre in Breiðholt. One, a man in his 30s, was pronounced dead after arriving at hospital. The other is in intensive care and in stable condition.

Police seized a knife from an apartment building in Hólar on Sunday as part of the investigation.
