A family clearing the house of Petur Mohr Dam in Suðuroy has found a film treatment co-written by author William Heinesen, KVF reported. The document relates to the 1960 film project Tro, håb og troldom, which was partly shot in the Faroe Islands and concerned Faroese affairs.
Marjun Niclasen, director of Filmshúsið, said a friend contacted her after finding the document. The friend thought the film institution might be interested, so Niclasen took it to the National Archives.
The typed story names Heinesen and film director Erik Balling as its authors. Archivist John Debes Jacobsen said the document was a valuable find because Heinesen helped write it and because there is little material available about his work in film.
