Bob Dylan returns to Horsens after fans queued for two days

Bob Dylan returns to Horsens for a concert tonight, 26 years after fans queued for days to buy tickets to his first show in the city, DR reports.

In 2000, just 250 tickets were available for the concert at Horsens Ny Teater. Kaj Borum was among the fans who camped outside the theatre, waiting two days for a chance to buy tickets. The queue could hold 125 people, and each person could buy two tickets.

Borum has since seen Dylan perform about 75 times. He met up at the theatre ahead of tonight’s concert with others who had queued with him in 2000. He said the wait brought him new friends and helped build a network of Dylan fans who travelled together to concerts in Denmark and elsewhere in Europe.

Claus Visbye, director of tonight’s concert organiser Horsens & Friends, said Dylan’s 2000 show helped change the city’s image. He said Horsens had been known as an industrial and prison town in the 1980s and 1990s, and that Dylan’s visit helped open the door to other international stars.

The concert takes place at Forum Horsens, a larger venue than the theatre where Dylan played in 2000. Borum said he plans to see Dylan twice more in London in December.
