Ukrainian refugees who are single parents will soon receive child allowance on the same terms as people from the Faroe Islands, Kringvarp Føroya reports.
A proposal would amend regulations on special social welfare rules for displaced Ukrainians. It would also allow the Faroese social services administration to offer Ukrainians certain employment measures, including work training and activity training.
Ukrainian refugees living with people who are neither family members nor partners would temporarily qualify for subsistence support as single people.
Another proposal would give Ukrainian refugees receiving Faroese-language instruction under the law on Faroese as a second language the right to temporary subsistence support.
