Traffic lights to be switched off at two Reykjavík junctions

Traffic disruptions are expected at the Miklabraut-Klambratún and Miklabraut-Stakkahlíð junctions on Wednesday and Thursday while Reykjavík City and the Icelandic Road and Coastal Administration upgrade the traffic-light control system, mbl.is reports.

The traffic lights will be switched off for approximately four hours each day during the work, which is scheduled for September 16 and 17.

Reykjavík City said the upgrade was part of ongoing efforts to improve road safety. Temporary disruptions to the traffic lights and deviations from normal traffic control should be expected while the work is under way.

Road users are being urged to exercise caution, follow instructions at the junctions and allow for possible delays.
