Swedish broadcaster SVT reports that SMHI has issued a yellow warning for heavy, cloudburst-like rain in eastern Svealand. The warning is expected to remain in effect until 3pm on Thursday.
A low-pressure system moving across the region is expected to bring widespread rain, with thunderstorms and periods of cloudburst-like rainfall.
Rainfall totals of 40 to 70 millimetres are expected, with higher amounts possible. The warning area has been changed since Wednesday and now stretches from central Stockholm to Uppsala, towards the coast, and across Västerås and Eskilstuna.
SMHI says the rain could cause flooding in buildings, on roads and at underpasses.
