Reykjavík mayor calls for further spending cuts

Reykjavík Mayor Hildur Björnsdóttir says the city must introduce further efficiency measures, mbl.is reported. The city recorded a deficit of 4.6 billion Icelandic krónur in the first quarter.

Significant organisational changes announced last week are expected to save the city 900 million krónur annually. Björnsdóttir discusses the measures in the Spursmál programme and explains how she plans to protect the city’s core operations at the same time.

Media turmoil and referendum aftermath
