Finnish diplomat Klaus Törnudd dies at 94

Diplomat and researcher Klaus Törnudd has died in Helsinki at the age of 94, Yle reported on Monday, citing information provided to Finnish news agency STT by his family.
Törnudd had a long career with Finland’s Foreign Ministry, serving as head of its political department and as an under-secretary of state. He also worked twice at Finland’s UN mission in New York and represented Finland on the UN Security Council.
From 1967 to 1971, Törnudd was a professor of international politics at the University of Tampere.
He was born in Helsinki on December 26, 1931.
