Hvepse control reaches record high in Denmark

Denmark’s pest control industry is reporting a record surge in requests to remove wasp nests this summer, driven by unusually warm and dry weather.

The Danish Pest Control Association told DR that member firms have received 42 percent more wasp-related jobs so far this year compared with the same period in 2025.

“I cannot recall a time in my many years in the industry when we have had more wasp-related tasks than now,” said Claus Schultz, the association’s chairman.

Several pest control companies have independently reported rising demand this month, echoing similar warnings from last summer when another round of hot, dry conditions boosted wasp activity.
