Nearly 33,000 Finns risk delayed tax refunds in August totalling some €2.2 million because they have not provided their bank account details, Yle reports.

Missing account numbers are particularly common among first-time young filers.

To receive refunds by direct deposit in August, account details must be submitted via the OmaVero service by 27 July. Otherwise, refunds will be issued as payment notices, redeemable later at Nordea bank branches.

On 3 August, about 2.1 million Finns are set to receive tax refunds worth a combined €1 billion. The Finnish Tax Administration notes that refunds may not appear in accounts immediately on the payment date and can arrive later in the day.
