Finland could see up to 70 millimetres of rain over the weekend, nearly matching the typical rainfall for the entire month of July, according to Yle meteorologist Elias Paakkanen.

A low-pressure system moving in from the south is expected to bring heavy rain to southern and central parts of the country. Current forecasts suggest the rain will arrive by Saturday afternoon, with the heaviest downpours on Sunday. Forecast models still vary, and predictions will be refined as the week progresses.

Last Sunday, a thunderstorm and heavy rain caused damage in Somero, Southwest Finland.
