Weather turns warmer across Finland

Rain is expected in many parts of Finland on Thursday, but sunshine will dominate most of the country by Friday, according to a forecast from Yle.

Showers will spread from the Baltic to southern Finland on Thursday, with rain falling in the south and southeast, including possible thunderstorms in the southeast. Parts of Lapland will also see rain showers, while central Finland remains mostly dry with sunny spells.

In the evening, the weather front will slowly move north, bringing scattered showers from Southwest Finland to North Karelia. Most of the country will stay dry with clear skies.

Daytime temperatures on Thursday will rise above 20°C in central Finland, while the south and Lapland will remain cooler.

Friday will be largely dry and sunny across most of Finland, with only scattered showers possible from the southwest to North Karelia. Temperatures will climb above 20°C nearly nationwide, with possible heatwave conditions in parts of Ostrobothnia.
