Week starts with rain across Finland
Rain will dominate the start of the week in Finland, with the heaviest downpours expected in the southern and central regions, according to Yle’s weather forecast.
On Monday afternoon, rain will spread eastward into Lapland, while unstable conditions persist in the south and centre. Widespread rainfall of over 20 millimetres is possible, particularly in the south, where a more continuous rain band will form. Thunderstorms will be less frequent than over the weekend.
Temperatures will hover around 15°C, though areas under rain in the north may see cooler readings. By evening, the northern rain zone will expand, while the southern rain belt aligns east-to-west, with drier gaps in between.
Tuesday will bring continued unstable, low-pressure dominated weather, with scattered showers possible almost nationwide. Cloud cover will remain thick, though the east and coastal areas may see brief sunny spells as rain eases.
