Southern and central Sweden can expect warm, sunny weather for Midsummer Eve, with temperatures possibly reaching 25°C in Götaland and Svealand, according to the latest forecast from SVT meteorologist Pererik Åberg.

After a week that began with rain and wind, warmer air is set to move across the country in time for the Midsummer holiday. Åberg described the outlook for Midsummer Eve as “quite sunny,” particularly in Götaland and Svealand.

Northern Sweden faces a less certain forecast. A rain system is expected to affect parts of Norrland during Midsummer Eve, bringing typical Swedish summer conditions with variable cloud cover to southern and central Norrland, Åberg said.

Though Midsummer is still days away, he noted the forecast has been unusually stable, with the same pattern appearing for several consecutive days.

After Midsummer, a front bringing rain and showers is expected to move in from the west, potentially delivering heavy local downpours, while warmth lingers in the eastern parts of the country.
