Føroya Bjór has been ordered to pay a 110,000 krona fine for selling alcohol to the owner and employees of Essabarr in Tórshavn, the Faroese court ruled, as reported by KVF.
The fine matches the prosecution’s demand and represents half the revenue from the sales in question. The alcohol was intended for consumption at Essabarr, and the sales violated the brewery’s licence, which permits alcohol sales only to visitors at its own premises.
The offence occurred between 11 December 2023 and 29 November 2024. Føroya Bjór obtained its licence to sell alcohol to visitors on 11 December 2023. The company has accepted the fine.
