The Finnish government convened an extraordinary session Tuesday to address preparedness for potential drone threats, according to an official statement from the Council of State.

Key measures under discussion include accelerating the rollout of the Cell Broadcast public warning system, structuring hazard alerts in tiers, and resolving labor market disputes over compensation when drone threats disrupt work travel. Employers and unions remain divided on whether workers must be paid if unable to reach their workplace due to such threats. Labor Minister Matias Marttinen has summoned both sides for further negotiations.

The government is also establishing a new ministerial committee on preparedness and comprehensive security to strengthen political oversight of emergency planning and coordination during crises.
