Swedish au pairs lived in same building as Epstein’s victims
A 16-storey Manhattan apartment building served as a key location in Jeffrey Epstein’s trafficking network, housing both his young victims and powerful associates, an investigation by Swedish public broadcaster SVT reveals. Swedish doctor Eva Andersson-Dubin, Epstein’s former girlfriend, also placed several of her au pairs in the same building.
Central hub for Epstein’s operations
While Epstein’s Upper East Side townhouse—where he hosted elite guests amid walls lined with photos of naked women—has drawn the most attention, a nearby 16-floor apartment building played a critical role in his crimes. Documents show multiple underage victims lived there over the years, alongside influential figures like former Israeli Prime Minister Ehud Barak.
The building was officially owned by Epstein’s brother, Mark, but emails confirm Jeffrey Epstein controlled tenant selection. His address book included notes designating certain units for “models.” A 2013 email instructed his chauffeur to collect “the girls” from the building and transport them to his townhouse by 8:30 PM.
Swedish au pairs describe life in the building
SVT’s investigation found that Andersson-Dubin, a Swedish physician and Epstein’s ex-partner, had access to apartments in the building. Several of her Swedish au pairs lived there during the 2000s and 2010s.
One former au pair recalled Andersson-Dubin explaining she could stay in “her friend’s apartment,” claiming she herself had lived there as a young student. Another, who worked as an au pair in the 2010s, remembered the building housed many young women—”models, aspiring actresses, people with their own agendas”—and that Epstein occasionally visited, offering them financial support.
A mother who visited her daughter in the building described meeting “two dark-haired young girls with big, sad eyes.” She later regretted not intervening: “My God, why didn’t I take care of those girls? They looked so lonely.”
Dubin family denies knowledge of wrongdoing
A spokesperson for the Dubin family confirmed Andersson-Dubin maintained a private apartment in the building, used for “guests, family, and friends.” The statement asserted that “to the Dubins’ knowledge, no minors resided in this building,” and that no au pair ever reported concerns about their living conditions or Epstein to the family.
