Framsóknarflokkurinn leadership shake-up in Garðabær called “just some kind of clique”
A leadership dispute within the Progressive Party’s (Framsóknarflokkurinn) local branch in Garðabær, Iceland, has escalated after a member publicly criticised the selection process as exclusionary, calling it “just some kind of clique.”
The comments follow internal disagreements over candidate nominations for the upcoming municipal elections. Critics allege that a small group within the party is controlling decisions without broader consultation. Party officials have not yet responded publicly to the claims.
Framsóknarflokkurinn, a centrist agrarian and liberal party, holds seats in Garðabær’s municipal council but has faced periodic internal divisions over local leadership.
