Approximately 10,900 students accepted into higher education programs in Finland
In the recent joint application period for higher education in the fall, approximately 25% of applicants secured a place in a college, according to a report released on Friday. This translates to around 10,900 students who received offers for admission. Over half of those accepted were admitted to their first-choice programs. Additionally, candidates can continue to receive offers from waiting lists until December 18.
The majority of the available programs during this application period were vocational courses at universities of applied sciences. A total of 20 universities and four traditional universities participated in the offerings. Notably, 97% of the applicants aimed for programs at universities of applied sciences, while 1% applied to both types of institutions, and 2% exclusively sought admission to universities.
This joint application round focused on programs beginning in January 2025.
