The coastal nations are set to meet in London on December 16 and 17 to negotiate an agreement on the distribution of mackerel quotas, according to the Icelandic media outlet Fiskifréttir.

A meeting will also take place in early 2025 to discuss the allocation of blue whiting and herring among the countries.

The nations have reached a consensus on the total allowable catch for the upcoming year.

There is an agreement for a total quota of 1,447,054 tons of blue whiting, 401,794 tons of herring, and 576,958 tons of mackerel.

However, further discussions are needed to determine how these quotas will be divided among the countries involved.
