Emergency services respond to serious accident on County Road 33 in Norway
Emergency services responded to a serious accident on Wednesday morning between Fagernes and Dokka, where three individuals were involved. According to police, all three are either conscious or partially conscious. Initially, two individuals were trapped in their vehicles but have since been freed.
One driver sustained severe injuries, while the other faces moderate injuries, as stated by Bård Einar Hoft, the police operations leader. All the injured parties are currently receiving medical treatment.
The two trucks reportedly collided on County Road 33 over Tonsåsen. A significant emergency response was deployed, including police, healthcare personnel, an air ambulance, and firefighters.
The section of the road where the accident occurred is closed. Arvid Wahlstrøm, a traffic operator with the Norwegian Public Roads Administration, indicated that it is uncertain how long County Road 33 will be closed but anticipates that it will take some time for the situation to be resolved. Detours are being established via County Road 251, Etnedalsvegen, leading to Bruflat and back to Tonsåsen.
