New government team delayed in Faroe Islands following Ingilín Didriksen Strøm’s departure

A new government team will not be appointed to replace Ingilín Didriksen Strøm until late next week, according to Aksel V. Johannesen, the Prime Minister and leader of the Social Democratic Party.

Johannesen declined to provide a detailed interview with the radio, but stated in written communication that “the Social Democratic Party will begin the process of selecting a new government team in the latter half of next week.”

Currently, Prime Minister Johannesen is overseeing the matters previously managed by Didriksen Strøm, which include environmental and energy issues.
