Emergency services respond to severe weather incidents across Pirkanmaa region in Finland

Emergency services in the Pirkanmaa region have been busy on Wednesday evening, responding to numerous alerts across various locations. Throughout the evening, the rescue service received dozens of calls regarding minor damage control tasks.

After 7 PM, Road 12 in Tottijärvi, Nokia had to be temporarily closed when strong winds knocked trees onto the road. Around the same time in Urjala, a tree fell against a building but thankfully did not cause any injuries. Later in the evening, shortly after 8 PM, traffic on Road 3260 toward Kuhmalahti from the Orivesi junction was also halted temporarily due to fallen trees.

Power outages have been reported in several areas throughout Pirkanmaa. Just before 10 PM, over 2,500 households in Nokia were without electricity, while Orivedä experienced outages affecting more than 1,500 homes.

According to weather forecasts, the rain and strong winds are expected to continue across Pirkanmaa throughout the night.
