Iceland experiences mixed weather with rain and sleet as low-pressure system approaches
Weather conditions across Iceland are set to feature varying rain and sleet throughout the day. A low-pressure system is currently situated just south of the country, moving northeast along the eastern coastline. As this system is relatively shallow, it is not expected to produce severe weather.
During the early part of the day, winds will be coming from the southeast at speeds ranging from 5 to 13 meters per second, with intermittent rain or sleet expected. In the afternoon, winds will shift to a more northerly direction, and the precipitation will gradually cease, giving way to clearer conditions in southern and western regions.
Temperatures are anticipated to range from around 1 degree Celsius in the northern inland areas, potentially rising to 10 degrees in the south. Tomorrow, wind speeds are predicted to be between 3 to 8 meters per second, with sunnier intervals. However, the northeastern parts of the country may experience stronger gusts of 8 to 13 meters per second along with some light snow showers.
On the temperature front, expect values between 0 to 5 degrees in the northern regions, while southern areas may see temperatures from 5 to 10 degrees.
Weather forecasts will be updated around 10:00 AM.
