Marius Borg Høiby faces ongoing investigation into violence allegations in Norway
The police announced ongoing updates regarding the case, stating in a press release that it is being investigated with high priority. The status of the allegations is subject to continuous assessment and may be expanded. Marius Borg Høiby has not yet been interviewed, which is planned for next week. Additionally, authorities are attempting to reach out to another former partner following her statements on social media.
The police confirmed their awareness of audio recordings purportedly capturing phone conversations between Høiby and the alleged victim. They noted that the audio files published recently are known to them and will be a significant focus during the upcoming interrogation. Reports indicate that in these recordings, Høiby allegedly appeared threatening toward the victim.
Earlier this week, Høiby admitted to committing violence against a woman he referred to as a girlfriend and damaging property at her home on August 4. He claimed that this occurred while under the influence of cocaine. His admission came before he had formally addressed the charges to the police. According to Høiby’s defense attorney, while he has not officially stated his guilt, the admission is effectively an acknowledgment of it.
After the incident, the police charged him with bodily harm and vandalism. They responded to a call from the victim’s friend on a Sunday afternoon at Høiby’s residence in Frogner, where a knife was seized, reportedly embedded in a wall. The victim received medical attention and is currently on sick leave due to the incident. Hours later, the police arrested Høiby near Skaugum, where he was detained for nearly a day before being released.
