Hus group initiates cooperation negotiations impacting 28,000 employees in uusimaa
The HUS Group, responsible for specialized healthcare in Uusimaa, has announced plans to initiate cooperation negotiations that will affect its entire workforce. These discussions are set to commence immediately. Currently, HUS is engaged in extensive adjustment measures, including a hiring freeze.
According to HUS, the negotiations could potentially impact up to 28,000 employees and affect as many as 990 full-time equivalent positions. The measures under consideration may involve layoffs and part-time adjustments. Other possibilities include leaving positions unfilled, altering job descriptions, and a reevaluation of temporary contracts.
HUS has indicated that these adjustments may influence job roles, work locations, types of employment, and salary structures. The organization faces a financial adjustment requirement of approximately €140 million by 2025. HUS aims to achieve savings of around €50 million through these measures.
Jari Finnilä, HUS’s Chief Financial Officer, stated in a press release, “The budget framework for 2025 and the associated adjustment need of about €140 million leave us with no alternatives. Unfortunately, we must now seek savings broadly across our workforce.”
Further updates on this situation will be provided as they develop.
