Sixteen doctors are currently training to become general practitioners in the Faroe Islands, where some places face a shortage of family doctors, KVF reports.
Marin Kristina í Dali completed her specialist training in general medicine, the specialty for general practitioners, yesterday. The next doctor is expected to finish on November 30, with three more due to complete their training next year, the National Hospital says.
Specialist training in general medicine in the Faroe Islands is organised through a partnership between the National Hospital, the general practice system and Videreuddannelsesregion Øst in Denmark. Seven general practitioner positions are currently open for applications.
