Snow to fall in eastern mountains

Rain, sleet and snow in the mountains are forecast in eastern Iceland on Tuesday, mbl.is reports. Elsewhere, there will be occasional showers or sleet showers, with conditions expected to clear for a time in many places this evening.

Southerly winds of 8 to 13 metres per second are expected in the easternmost parts of the country, with lighter winds elsewhere.

On Wednesday, northeasterly or variable winds of 5 to 13 metres per second will bring rain, sleet or snow to the Northeast and East. The Westfjords may see light snow showers, while most other regions will remain dry for much of the day. Daytime temperatures will range from 0 to 5 degrees, with slight frost in many inland areas.
