Tram service disrupted in Helsinki after accident on line 13

An accident occurred on Helsinki’s newest tram line 13 in the afternoon, disrupting service between Kalasatama and Pasila. The Helsinki Fire Department reported that the overhead wires fell at the intersection of Hermannin rantatie and Sörnäsintie, after a milling machine struck the lines. Traffic disruptions are expected at the intersection until the situation is resolved.

As of 4:30 PM, HSL indicated that the repair work is anticipated to take approximately two hours. Emergency services and Urban Transport are on-site managing the incident. Tram line number 13 began operations earlier this week on Monday. Further updates will follow.
