Accident disrupts tram line 13 traffic in Helsinki

An accident occurred on Helsinki’s newest tram line 13 this afternoon, disrupting traffic between Kalasatama and Pasila. The Helsinki Rescue Department reported that the tram’s overhead wires were down at the intersection of Hermanni’s waterfront road and Sörnäinen street. A milling machine had struck the wires, causing traffic delays in the area until the situation is resolved.

As of 4:30 PM, HSL indicated that repairs are expected to take approximately two hours. The rescue services and urban transport authorities are currently managing the situation. Tram number 13 had only commenced operations this past Monday.
