Russian frigate fired flares near Danish military helicopter

A Russian frigate fired two flares at a Danish military helicopter on Monday during a routine flight to photograph the vessel in international waters off Gedser, DR reports.

One of the flares passed close to the helicopter, but neither the crew nor the aircraft was harmed.

Defence Minister Jeppe Bruus called the incident serious and said Russia’s ambassador would be summoned for a meeting.
