Kringvarp Føroya’s Breddin programme is examining how the ongoing war in Iran is affecting ordinary people’s finances and what can be done in the Faroe Islands to limit the consequences.
Oil prices have risen sharply since the war began earlier this year. The conflict, which US President Donald Trump said would last four to five weeks, has continued for more than six months.
The Strait of Hormuz has been more or less closed since the United States and Israel attacked Iran at the end of February. The Bab al-Mandeb Strait is now also closed, and there is no indication that the war will end soon.
Breddin addresses the economic impact on ordinary people and possible measures in the Faroe Islands. The programme airs at 10am.
