Russian frigate fires flares at Danish helicopter

DR reports that a Russian frigate fired two flares at one of the Danish Armed Forces’ helicopters during a routine flight in international waters off Gedser on Monday.

One of the flares passed close to the helicopter, but neither the crew nor the aircraft was harmed.

Defence Minister Jeppe Bruus called the incident serious. The Ministry of Foreign Affairs will summon Russia’s ambassador for a meeting.
