Vágar airport handled 66,169 passengers in August

Vágar airport handled 66,169 passengers in August, 9.2 per cent more than in the same month last year, Kringvarp Føroya (KVF) reported.

By September 1, a total of 359,348 passengers had travelled through the airport, an increase of 6.9 per cent compared with the same period last year.

Both cargo and mail volumes fell in August. Cargo was down 61.7 per cent from August last year, while mail declined by 2.8 per cent. However, the figures for the year to September 1 showed increases of 11.6 per cent for cargo and 4 per cent for mail.
