Finland pays tribute to Norway’s King Harald V

Yle reports that Finnish figures have expressed condolences following the death of Norway’s King Harald V, describing his life’s work as highly valued.

President Alexander Stubb shared his condolences on the social media service X to the king’s family and the Norwegian people.

“King Harald V will be remembered as an exceptionally dedicated and respected head of state who served his country faithfully for decades,” Stubb wrote.

Stubb also recalled the king’s unique ability to unite Norwegians from different backgrounds. He said Harald strengthened the nation’s sense of togetherness in both good times and difficult periods.

Member of the European Parliament Anna-Maja Henriksson said she shared the grief of the entire Norwegian people and the royal family.

“King Harald’s life’s work has left its mark on all of us in the Nordic countries,” Henriksson wrote.
