Eastern Iceland could see temperatures reach 20 degrees

Eastern Iceland is expected to have the country’s warmest weather today, with temperatures potentially reaching 20 degrees, mbl.is reports. Elsewhere, many residents can expect cloudy conditions and showers.
Southwesterly or variable winds of 3 to 8 metres per second will prevail. Showers are expected in many areas, particularly in the south and west.
The Reykjavík area will see some showers during the morning, with temperatures between 8 and 13 degrees. Winds should ease and conditions improve later in the day.
Conditions will be best in the east, where skies will be partly cloudy with occasional showers. Temperatures could reach 18 degrees in northeastern Iceland. The Westfjords will be cooler, with temperatures of 8 to 12 degrees and showers early in the day, followed by improving conditions in the afternoon.
A new low-pressure system is expected to reach the country tomorrow, bringing stronger winds and rain. Considerable rainfall is forecast at times in southeastern and western Iceland, with temperatures between 8 and 15 degrees.
