Strong low pressure to bring heavy rain to eastern Finland

Finland will see changeable weather over the final days of the week, Yle reports.

On Friday, the southern and central parts of the country will be mostly dry and sunny. Local showers and thunderstorms will develop in western Finland during the afternoon and evening.

A relatively narrow band of rain remains around Oulu. North of it, the weather will be dry but mostly cloudy.

Cloud cover will increase slightly on Saturday. Some areas will see showers, but most of the country will remain dry.

A strong area of low pressure is expected to arrive from the south during Saturday evening and Sunday, bringing heavy rain to eastern and southeastern Finland. Winds will also strengthen significantly.
