Warm air brings temperatures above 20C to southern Finland

Warm air is moving into Finland, with temperatures rising above 20C in the south, Yle reports. A high-pressure system will keep Thursday mostly dry.

The weather will be widely sunny in the east and partly in the north. Cloud cover will increase during the day in the south and west.

Daytime temperatures will rise above 15C across much of northern Finland, although northern Lapland will be cooler.

Friday night will be cold again, particularly in the north, where temperatures may fall below freezing. Friday will be cloudy across much of the country, with scattered rain in the west and north.

The south will remain fairly warm, with temperatures potentially approaching hot-weather levels. In the north, temperatures will be around 15C.
