Local transport mobile apps fail in multiple cities

Mobile ticketing on the Waltti app has stopped working in 17 Finnish cities, including Helsinki, Kuopio, Tampere and Oulu.

The disruption began at 08:00 on Thursday and affects only the app-based payment method; cash, bank cards and travel cards continue to operate normally, according to Kuopio city transport officials. The fault was reported at 08:00 and repair times typically range from 30 minutes to two hours.

Helsinki’s regional transport authority HSL has also experienced issues with its app since Wednesday, though the cause has not been disclosed.
