Warm weather across Finland today, clouds increasing Sunday
Temperatures will reach 18–21°C in most of Finland on Saturday, with sunny and calm conditions prevailing during graduation celebrations, according to a forecast by Foreca reported by public broadcaster Yle.
Winds that have swept the country in recent days will ease over the weekend, leaving much of Finland dry and sunny. However, eastern regions—from Kymenlaakso to North Karelia—and parts of Lapland will see increased cloud cover, with scattered light rain possible. A moderate north wind will persist in these areas.
Temperatures in cloudy eastern regions and southern Lapland will range between 13–17°C, while northern and central Lapland will stay cooler at 5–13°C.
Cloud cover will spread across most of the country on Sunday, though conditions will remain largely dry. Southern Lapland and northeastern Finland may still see some rain, with brief showers possible in southern and central regions. Lapland will be the coolest, with temperatures between 5–15°C depending on cloud cover. The warmest areas will be in western Finland, where temperatures could climb to 18–22°C, while southern and central regions will see 15–18°C.
A meteorologist from the Finnish Meteorological Institute told state news agency STT on Saturday morning that next week’s weather will be variable but predominantly summer-like across the country, with rain moving through different regions. Early in the week, central and possibly western Finland are expected to see the most precipitation.
