Authorities in Fyn have reported no explosives were found on a boat at the Lohals harbor. Anders Therkelsen, the incident commander for Fyns Politi, shared this information during a press conference on Monday afternoon.
A 58-year-old man from the southern Funen area has been arrested in connection with the situation. He faces charges including making threats, primarily directed at police officers. Therkelsen stated that there is no indication that residents of Lohals should feel unsafe.
The police received a report early this morning at 6:45 AM about potential explosives on a boat in the harbor, which also had an individual on board. In response, a significant police presence was deployed to Lohals harbor. For safety reasons, approximately 50 people were evacuated from a nearby area as a precaution.
A section of the harbor was cordoned off for a time, but both the blockade and the evacuation were lifted about an hour before Fyns Politi conducted a doorstep press briefing.
Throughout the incident, police maintained contact with the man via phone. At 1:19 PM, authorities successfully got him off the boat and made the arrest. According to police reports, there were no injuries related to the incident.
