Sweden’s largest fuel chains cut gasoline and diesel prices by 0.55 SEK per litre on Wednesday, marking the fifth consecutive reduction in a week, state broadcaster SVT reports.

Retail gasoline prices now sit just under 18 SEK per litre, while diesel remains slightly above 20 SEK. Over the past week, gasoline has fallen by 1.45 SEK per litre and diesel by 1.55 SEK, driven by lower global oil prices amid hopes for a swift Middle East ceasefire.

Despite the recent declines, both fuels remain above pre-war levels. Before the conflict began on 28 February, gasoline averaged just over 15 SEK per litre and diesel around 17 SEK—though the government has since reduced fuel taxes by 1 SEK for gasoline and 0.40 SEK for diesel.
