The Faroe Islands’ largest-ever conference opened Tuesday at Tjørnuvík, with around 1,400 participants gathering for the UArctic Congress and the Arctic Council’s Ocean Connectivity Conference, public broadcaster KVF reports.

The joint event, focused on Arctic ecosystems and global change, includes roughly 200 presentations over its duration. Organizers include the University of the Faroe Islands, the Arctic Council, the Faroese Marine Research Institute, and the national government.
